Rain Campaign

raincampaign.com is the home of the newest ad media, ads that reveal a hidden message when rained upon. In keeping with the name, they give a portion of money advertisers spend with them to support the rain forests.

The only snag I see with this media is that when it rains most people are usually trying to find cover as soon as possible, therefore ignoring rain campaigns. But I could be wrong, what do you think?

Win £1000 on Facebook

Not sure if I'm brave enough to do this but it's still a pretty interesting idea. Basically, you hand over the control of your status updates to Dr Pepper for a chance to win £1000. It's done through a Facebook app so they'll be able to use all you details and comment on your friends' photos etc.

If anyone is brave enough to do this let me know how it goes! What's the worst that could happen?

More IE6 bashing - but this time it's from Microsoft

Not sure why is is just aimed at the Australian market but it's still pretty interesting. Even Microsoft hate IE6. After all, you wouldn't drink 9 year old milk!

Imagine if kids could print their own toys?

Is this the end of box shaped direct mail?

In theory you can send anything through the post (wrapped or not) as long as you add enough postage, but I wouldn't risk it. The Yanko Design Blog showcased an innovation in packaging that could render the traditional DM in a box obsolete, helping reduce our environmental impact. And, also greatly benefit eBay traders, online shoppers and anyone sending gifts by post.

Patrick Sung's design for the 'Universal Packaging System' (UPACKS) is very simple. Patterns were added to recyclable corrugated cardboard creating a package rigid enough to protect items, but much smaller than the usual box as the packaging is wrapped around the item.

Social Networks and the Election

Social Fuel is a dashboard that allows you to see who's being talked about the most with different angles and stats.

I am not going to cast my vote on here just yet but this made me laugh - a lot...

"Why don't we save time and just assume every time you speak about our policies you are wrong." - Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats to David Cameron during the final TV debate.
